Introductory information about Pat

"I was born in Colchester, and moved to St. Albans in 1973. I have lived in Redbourn since 1977. My husband John and I have two children, who both attended local schools, and six grandchildren.

I have been a parish councillor for 34 years, and was a district councillor from 1992 – 2006. During that time I chaired the Leisure committee and Plans North sub-committee, and served as Deputy Mayor in 2003. I was involved in Redbourn Care Group when it was first set up, and am founder member and chair of Redbourn in Bloom. I also chair the Youth Club committee.

From the early 80's I campaigned and fund-raised for Redbourn Recreation Centre, then for the all-weather Bowling Green. I am a board member and former chair of the Redbourn Playing Fields Trust, which oversees the running of the Centre, (now renamed Redbourn Leisure Centre), and helped to negotiate the very successful partnership with Everyone Active.

Formerly a music teacher at Beaumont School and voluntary services manager for West Herts. Hospitals NHS Trust, I run a Babysong Group and conduct a small choir at the Salvation Army in St. Albans."
