Bug Hotel Building Event 22nd April 12-2pm
To celebrate Earth Day, Wild about Redbourn are building a bug hotel in Cumberland Gardens on Saturday 22nd April, 12-2pm.
Come and join in or try one at home, we hope to inspire you!
Many of our bugs are under threat, we really need them to pollinate our flowers and crops and to keep a balance in our ecosystems. Our tidy gardens and the use of pesticides are harming them.
They need places to hide, to lay their eggs, to hibernate and to have a snooze!
Between then and now we would like you save any of the following materials you may have so they can be recycled into our bug hotel:
wooden pallets, bricks, tiles, plastic bottles washed with lids on, bamboo canes, straw, stones, pebbles, twigs/loose bark, leaves, cardboard.
We will need some of the contributions in advance. (In particular, pallets, and bricks for stacking the pallets) Please get in touch via our email address if you can provide these:
wildaboutredbourn@redbourn-pc.gov.uk
There are lots of different designs and ideas, try the Wildlife Trust website
Come and join us……see you there!
